Intro to Art: Introduction to Basic Drawing

I can:

  1. Create 5 specifically different VALUE SCALES

What is the most challenging aspect of drawing for you?  Talk with a partner or your table about the hangups you have when it comes to drawing.  Do you believe it is as simple as I’ve tried to portray it?

Ceramics: Face Mugs and the Fired Finished Clay

I can:

  1. Learn and practice various building techniques that are specific to a project.
  2. Create a determined plan for my mug project.

We are nearing the end of our first project…CONGRATS!!!  Be aware that this Friday (shorten schedule) there are going to be a variety of things due.  Most importantly is your ACTION SHEET that you based your plan off of.  If you’ve missed placed, lost, or just flat out forgot about it, NOW is the time to start thinking about how this could affect your final project.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE NECESSARY ACTION PAGE INFORMATION READY TO BE TURNED IN FOR THIS FRIDAY!!!

We are in the midst of a really simple painting.  Remember the plan that you came up from yesterday’s class and try to base your next move off of what you’ve planned for yourself. Keep track of you ACTION STEPS as you move through the composition over the next three days and be prepared to reflect on how successful you feel you accomplished your plan!

Drawing: The Bean

I can:

  • Identify the three forms that make up the TORSO
  • Simplify the RIBCAGE and PELVIS (hips) throughout timed drawings

Building on some of the ideas from yesterday’s class (absent people, make sure you pick up this week’s Pose Packet) we are going to be practicing the poses and trying to exaggerate the torso so that we can identify poses easier and quicker.
