Ceramics: Relief Stamp Making
Take a look at what you created Friday. Compare that with what your neighbors created. Will these stamps work? More importantly, will these stamps work the way that they were intended to, or are corners being cut? On your goal sheet for today, I’d like you to draw/write what you believe your stamp should look like when pressed into clay, then I would like you to create a sample “stamp” on the back of this goal sheet, using the “Weekly Reflection” portion. What adjustments will you have to make to be sure that your design matches what you create. Keep track of this goal throughout the week and see if you reach it by this Friday.
Intro to Art: Elements of Art
How do you describe things that you like? What types of words do you use to identify specific characteristics?
We will be looking over and discussing some of the terms used to describe works of art and the items that you will be creating this year. Our first “element”will be looking at is VALUE.
Painting: Color Theory
We are going to start with the actual meaning of what a color wheel is. As class moves on, I ‘d like to you “self check” your work from last week and identify the areas where you may have gone off course with your mixing. As the week continues, we will be referring back to some of these concepts and also creating a KEY to use when working on larger paintings.
