Intro to Art: How to do LINE (cont.)
- Demonstrate your drawing skills by applying various characteristics of LINE by following a demonstration.
- Apply comprehension skills for understanding qualities and characteristics of LINE by explaining to each other various examples of LINE
We will continue our look on using LINE today to build not only value, but also to work with these techniques using basic drawing skills. As you work through the classroom demonstrations, I’d like you to be thinking about the differences between all the techniques we’ve been discussing, and which one(s) lend themselves better to your abilities.
Painting 1: Abstract Color Theory Composition
- Apply your comprehension and watercolor skills for developing a personal piece of artwork by following the steps outlined in your per-painting.
Today, I’d like you to focus on this form, and start to think about what your ARTIST STATEMENT will say about the work you’ve been spending the last 10 days on. Take a look at the format of the statement, and think about what the most important characteristics are of your painting.
How will you decide to communicate your GOALS for the piece with the viewer in the most straight forward manner?
Ceramics 1: Using BALANCE and SYMMETRY in design
- Apply your comprehension skills for BALANCE and SYMMETRY by creating a DIA DE MUERTOS design
We are going to start demo-ing the construction aspect to this project today. Keep in mind, while I am aware you all want to jump into “making” your skulls, the very first requirement revolved around having a working plan turned in. Now your plan can change as we work throughout the week, however I want to make sure that you are thinking about your time and the end product throughout the next few days.
