Intro to Art: 2 Pt Perspective Demonstration

What types of Perspective characteristics to you notice that are different in this photo than from  the 1 PT Perspective drawings we’ve done in the past
  • Provide evidence through experimentation, practice, and persistence, the demonstration of new skills and knowledge in a chosen art form by following a class demonstration on PERSPECTIVE DRAWING.
  • Write arguments to support claims that your intentions HAVE been carried out using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence by answering the REFLECTION/ EVALUATION question: 

What are two things that you think are going to be challenging in creating a SUCCESSFUL and INTERESTING image using 2 PT Perspective drawing technique(s)?

Today we will focus on using 2 PT Perspective to create depth and three-dimensional-ty.  As we move through the week doing in-class demonstrations together, I’d like you to also keep in the back of your mind what makes an image INTERESTING.  Is it the color, the spacing, the lines?  How can you manipulate the steps that we will be discussing in class to make your images “INTERESTING”?


Painting 1: Peace Exchange (Studio Day 9/9)

  • Evaluate, select, and apply methods or processes appropriate to display artwork in a specific place.
  • What was your FAVORITE or LEAST FAVORITE part of working with clay. Please tell me WHY you LOVE or DON’T LOVE using this material. Please be specific. 

Reflection / Evaluation: What do you see as needing to be RESOLVED for the end of the project TOMORROW? Know that it is the LAST day to work. PAUSE 10 minutes before the end of class.

Take a look at the hand-out version of the Artist Statement that will be accompanying your painting.  Spend the last 10 mins. reviewing what will need to be on your statement.  What types of questions are you having difficulty with answering?

  • Through experimentation, practice, and persistence, demonstrate acquisition of skills and knowledge in a chosen art form.
  • Take a look at your previous week’s works – where did you struggle the most with the idea of the cube? Where did you succeed the most?

Reflection / Evaluation: What was the most challenging part for you to create 3-D that you LEARNED the most from? Why was this most difficult way to go and how do you see the LEARNING? What is most important about creating a plan when it comes to working three dimensionally?
