Intro to Art: Understanding SPACE When Making a Multi-Colored Stencil
- Understanding and applying media, techniques, and processes by using X-ACTO knives to create a 3 color stencil
- Apply media, techniques, and processes with sufficient skill, confidence, and sensitivity that their intentions are carried out in their artworks by creating a multi-color stencil using steps that are demonstrated in class.
Yesterday we focused on the specifics on using SPACE (both POSITIVE and NEGATIVE) to create a stencil, and how to manipulate the cuts so that NEGATIVE space could/would stay on some designs. Today, we are going to take a look at images that have multiple colors in them, and the specific layers that would be needed to create the image.
How many colors do you see in this image:
REFLECTION QUESTION: What types of things did you notice if you mix up the layers for your stenicil? Is/Was there a way to work yourself out of a mistake if you printed the wrong color or followed the wrong order?
