Cutting a Frame
So not being in class today presents an interesting challenge for today’s goal. Below you will find simple step-by-step instructions for cutting, mounting, turning in for you to follow through today’s class period:

Next, place your art, side-by-side with the card stock paper. Making sure that the top edges are lined up, place your straight edge on the bottom edge of your art, and carry a straight line over, on top of the card stock.


Now we have to “measure” out the opening. This is pretty simple, but very delicate, as you need to be sure you are drawing STRAIGHT LINES, or else your frame opening will look slanted.

By repeating this step, on all four sides of your art, you will be left with a simple “window” type square which we will cut out next.

Congratulations!!! You’ve cut out the frame and are ready to construct the whole piece by “sandwiching” your art in between the two pieces of card stock. Below are a few pictures showing how to do this.
