Intro To Art: Animation Challenge

Before you guys get into to it today, I’d like you to take a quick look at this:

This is a pretty cool process.  I’d like you guys to think about what requirement of the four presented in this challenge does Marty Cooper address with the majority of his animations?

  • Apply subjects, symbols, and ideas in their portraits and use the skills gained to solve problems by carrying out the choices made in their ACTION PLAN.
  • Describe the origins of specific images and ideas and explain why they are of value in their artwork and in the work of others by answering the REFLECTION/EVALUATION question:

Reflection Question:  Out of all the information that was presented today, which requirements do you feel will be the easiest for you to carry out in acrylic paint for your upcoming project?  Which requirements do you feel will be the toughest to follow through with.

Remember…the key to this project is not only showing your understanding of KEYFRAME and INBETWEEN frame terminology but also being able to shoot-edit-present something that loops.  Check out this old post for some good examples on LOOPING vs REPEATING.

Ceramics 2: Intergalactic Champions Part 2

So after meeting with a few of you yesterday, I started to think about the main issue that many of you started to run into:  WHAT TYPE OF LIFE FORMS LIVE IN YOUR GALAXY?

Most of you are assuming that there are humans that reside in your galaxy. Humans that do human things, which I guess makes sense, but at the same time really limits your ability to be CREATIVE with this project.

I’d like you guys to think about any type of science fiction movie that you’ve seen before.  What RACE were the characters?  Human, alien, elf, fairy, monster, savage?  How did they communicate with each other?  Did they use OUR ENGLISH language?

Take a look at this video:

Part 2 Requirments:

  1. The FORMAT for this final challenge is a medal.
  2. The MEDAL will need to be fully created from clay, however, you may use any non-traditional item with it when constructing.
    • The MEDALS will need to follow the SAME:
      • DESIGN characteristics
      • COLOR characteristics

As your trophy, so they are presented as a set.
