Mon. Dec. 11 #2PtPerspective #CompoundObjects #PerspectiveDrawing

Intro to Art: 2 Pt Perspective Drawing Compound Objects

  • Provide evidence through experimentation, practice, and persistence, the demonstration of new skills and knowledge in a chosen art form by following a class demonstration on PERSPECTIVE DRAWING.
  • Write arguments to support claims that your intentions HAVE been carried out using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence by answering the REFLECTION/ EVALUATION question:

What are two things that you think are going to be challenging in creating a SUCCESSFUL and INTERESTING image using 2 PT Perspective drawing technique(s)?

Today we will focus on using 2 PT Perspective to create depth and three-dimensional-ty. As we move through the week doing in-class demonstrations together, I’d like you to also keep in the back of your mind what makes an image INTERESTING.  Is it the color, the spacing, the lines?  How can you manipulate the steps that we will be discussing in class to make your images “INTERESTING”

We are wrapping up our PERSPECTIVE demonstrations today by working on compound objects made up of multiple perspective objects.  Tomorrow you will be presented with your final project challenge of the 2017 school year.

What types of characteristics do you notice all are the same on each of these objects as they are drawn in 2 PT Perspective?

Drawing: Perspective Drawing (Interior Spaces)

  1. STWBAT provide evidence through experimentation, practice, and persistence, the demonstration of new skills and knowledge in a chosen art form by following a class demonstration on PERSPECTIVE DRAWING.
  2. STW write arguments to support claims that your intentions HAVE been carried out using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence by answering the REFLECTION/ EVALUATION question:

What are two things that you think are going to be challenging in creating a SUCCESSFUL and INTERESTING image of the high school hallways?

Today we continue the look at what a 1 PT PERSPECTIVE DRAWING would look like as an INSIDE or INTERIOR view.  Through our class demonstrations, we will address question(s) like:

  1. How can the artist manipulate the vanishing point when the horizon line can’t be seen?
  2. How do you draw a floor or ceiling in 1 PT PERSPECTIVE
  3. What is EYE LEVEL?
