Intro to Art: Sketchbook Challenge #3 (UPDATE)

  • DEMONSTRATE their understanding of the procedures of the weekly sketchbook by completing a themed/timed sketch.

So today is our third sketchbook challenge!!!

UPDATE: As a continuation of yesterday’s class period, we are going to postpone this week’s sketchbook challenge to focus on completing the guided notes from yesterday. (see below).  In class today, I would like you to focus on using the skills we practiced yesterday, along with your value scale to identify and replicate the values in the 3-D sphere pictured below.   Be sure to label the areas of value using the key terms located in the box.

Drawing: Still Life Creation

  • DEMONSTRATE their understanding of the procedures of the weekly sketchbook by completing a themed/timed sketch.

A bit of a shift from the normal sketchbook challenge today…

We are going to discuss and take a look at proper reference photos or images/approaches to take when drawing from observation(s).  In groups, you will be asked to create your own unique still life using the materials that I have provided for you.

Keep in mind that as you work in your groups, you will want to make sure that you are “creating” something [still-life] that could be considered INTERESTING and UNIQUE without compromising the materials too much.
