Intro To Art: Basic Color Theory (Notes)

  • STWBAT conceive and create works of visual art that demonstrate an understanding of how the communication of their ideas relates to the media, techniques, and processes they use by creating a COLOR WHEEL from colored pencils.
  • SW Write arguments to support claims that your intentions HAVE been carried out using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence by answering the REFLECTION/ EVALUATION question:

So yesterday’s class led to some very interesting discussions on how people understand and use color.  As I said yesterday, I wanted to provide a copy of my notes which you can download below:

Remember, sketchbook notes are allowed on FINAL EXAM!!!

Today you will digitally turn your copy of these notes before the abbreviated hour is over.  This will take the place of your routine “Weekly Sketchbook Challenge,” so follow the same procedures as usual.  Use the hashtag #MHSsketchbookChallenge and make sure your accounts are set to “PUBLIC” and/or you leave your name in your email.


Adv. Drawing: Timed Poses Practice

  •  STWBAT DEMONSTRATE their comprehension of proper procedures for doing timed gesture drawings of the human form
  • STW IDENTIFY characteristics of GESTURE DRAWING by labeling their LINE OF ACTION with one of the three main types

We are going to take a few minutes today in our abbreviated schedule to practice drawing poses with a limited period time.  We will be using the Figurosity.com site/service.  You can find login/password on Google Classroom
