Intro to Art: Surrealism Challenge

  • STWBAT apply subjects, symbols, and ideas in their artworks and use the skills gained to solve problems by carrying out the choices made in their thumbnails worksheet
  • SW describe the origins of specific images and ideas and explain why they are of value in their artwork and in the work of others by answering the REFLECTION/EVALUATION question:

Reflection Question:  Out of all the information that was presented today, which requirements do you feel will be the easiest for you to carry out in watercolor paint for your upcoming project?  Which requirements do you feel will be the toughest to follow through with?

Adv. Drawing: Portraiture Drawing

  • STWBAT APPLY organizational principles and methods to create original works of art for a portfolio purpose.
  • SW IDENTIFY, DEFINE problems, and REFLECT  upon possible visual solutions to their final portfolio by writing a daily goal.

Today we start your card-marking review on portraiture drawing by selecting a model to work from for the continuation of the week.  While I will not be looking specifically for any shading or value, you will need to be able to show your ability to identify specific visual landmarks that are locate on your model and transition them to a flat drawing.

You will be evaluated on your ability to take the techniques we’ve spent the past few weeks learning and process them through your drawing.
